What This Site Is, And What It Is Not

The single most important thing on this website is on this page.

This is a referral website

The owners of melbourneglazier.com.au do not directly provide glazing, glass replacement or window services. Enquiries made through this website are referred to third-party contractors who carry out the work.

That means the glazier who attends, quotes and installs is an independent business. They set the price, do the work and carry any warranty on it. This website is not a party to that agreement.

We do not verify contractors

We do not inspect, audit or verify the licensing, registration, certification, insurance or competence of the contractors we refer enquiries to. We expect contractors to represent those things accurately, but we do not check them, and you should not assume that a referral is an endorsement or a guarantee of quality.

Before any work starts, ask the contractor directly for:

  • their business name and ABN,
  • evidence of public liability insurance,
  • a written quote stating the glass type and thickness, not just a total price,
  • confirmation of what is included, such as removal and disposal of broken glass and making good the frame.

Verify anything that matters with the contractor and with the relevant licensing or regulatory authority.

Disputes

Any agreement for work is between you and the contractor. We are not involved in disputes or disagreements between contractors and customers, and we are not responsible for damages, losses or disagreements arising from the use of this website to connect the two. Disputes should be resolved between you, the contractor and, if needed, Consumer Affairs Victoria or another appropriate body.

Information on this website

Everything published here is general information, not professional advice. We aim for accuracy and Australian relevance, but errors and omissions are possible and standards, regulations and prices change.

In particular, nothing on this site determines what glass your building requires. Glass selection under Australian Standard AS 1288 depends on the position, dimensions, fall height, exposure and use of each piece of glass and must be assessed on site by a qualified glazier. Our safety glass guide explains the principles, and the cost guide discusses what drives price, but neither is a substitute for a site assessment or a quote.

See the terms and conditions for the terms of use of this site and the privacy policy for how enquiry information is handled. Questions can go through the contact page.
